Individual squads will probably be about the same size though (except the new faction, Imperial Guard, should have more units than others). Retribution, the standalone expansion coming out in March, is going to let you skip deploying one of your hero units in lieu of an "honor guard" which has many more units, and also I think some light base building type expendable unit squads.

I have a question: I've heard about Chaos Rising's corruption system, but I haven't played it, or the original since the beta, so: Did they keep Marine squads limited to three men in the final release? Because that is utter nonsense, and that being in the beta is why I've never gotten DoW2.It's part of the way the game is set up (although Tarkus has a 4 man squad). With the benefit of hindsight, !spoiler! Martellus !spoiler! being the 'official' traitor seems kind of really obvious. Tarkus' ability to stun enemies (even bosses!) is pro.ġ0. However, is it just me, or are a lot of the wargear you get for doing such things Corrupting Wargear? Maybe it's just this run-through?ĩ. I thought I'd fail more objectives than I have.Ĩ. Like I said, this game is easier than I remember it. The only time I've ever gained Corruption so far is the mandatory +1 you get when you fight Eliphas the Awesome the first time, and I gained +2 for losing a couple of Scouts on that mission where you have to protect them (I just finished this mission).Ĭonsidering the amount of Redemption you get, it all equals zero anyway. Playing a 'pure' game is fairly easy to do. Thaddeus is better than I remember him being (I need to level him so that he doesn't suck when I bring him to the Space Hulk). This game is easier than I remember it being. Already got the ability that heals all his friends whenever he attacks a Marked enemy.Ĥ. Starting at level 20, straight out of the OC, with all the gear you finished The Last Stand mission with, makes the game about five billion times easier than if you start Chaos Rising fresh at level 17 or 18 (?) with a crappy selection of wargear that the game starts you off with.ģ.

On Primarch.Ĭouple of things came rushing back to me Ģ. I realised I didn't have the Purist Achievement (have 4 Terminators on a Space Hulk mission, which is weird, as opposed to say, have uncorrupted squads, which is what Purist sounds like it should be), because I obviously ran Cyrus the whole time, so, I set out to get that. So, tonight, just because of this thread, I started up my game of Chaos Rising again.
